Become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst!
This verified course sequence (VCS) in behavioral analysis satisfies academic course requirements for candidates seeking to become a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA). The Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) has approved the following sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the BCBA examination. Applicants will have to meet additional (non-Gonzaga University) requirements to qualify for BCBA certification.
Candidates can complete the VCS at Gonzaga in as little as 15 months. The pace of the program depends on your schedule and the availability of courses in a given term. All courses are delivered face-to-face on our campus. Before enrolling into any courses, a brief application and advising interview with our faculty is required.
BCBA Certification Requirements:
BCBA certification is reviewed and granted on an international level. Below are the requirements. The full list of requirements can be found online at the BACB website.
- Degree background - Candidates must possess a minimum of a graduate degree in an acceptable field of study from a qualifying institution. Applicants who are unsure of whether their field of study is acceptable may request a preliminary review from the BACB.
- Coursework requirements - Candidates must complete a verified course sequence (VCS) to prove content mastery. Gonzaga's VCS satisfies this requirement.
- Experience hours - Candidates must complete experience that fully complies with all of the current Experience Standards. You may begin accruing hours as early as your first course and can continue as you complete the VCS.
- Examination - Upon completion of the first three requirements, candidates will apply to take the BCBA examination. This is the final step toward national BCBA certification.
